President-Elect Obama may be on the right track for healthcare reform with a strategy similar to Pres. Johnson's Medicare plan. What happens to HR 676--the best healthcare bill from Congress to date? Though I am hopeful about Obama's strategy, I hope that HR 676 is not simply tossed. Thanks for posting. I agree that Obama did seem to be on the right track, particularly with his nomination of Tom Daschle for Health & Human Services Secretary. However, HR 676's chances seem more unlikely with Obama's selection of Sanjay Gupta for Surgeon General.
